Music on the Monument > 2010 Performers

All concerts are held at Monument Square from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved indoors to the Red Onion Cafe.

James Yorgan Sextet

The James Yorgan Sextet perform standards and jazz from the swing era to contemporary jazz from artists George Benson, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Grover Washington Jr.

Leading the band on bass is Jim Yorgan. Other members of the band include Mick Heberling (drums), Dave Sturino (keyboards), Tom Meredith (trumpet), Dave Ferguson (trombone) and Pat Odell (reeds).

The Kal Bergendahl Project

The Kal Bergendahl Project is a group of diverse and talented musicians spanning from Milwaukee to Chicago.  The group’s founder and bassist, Kal Bergendahl, embarked on this project in 2005 venturing to combine smooth, edgy jazz with soulful pop music.  The group steps into the worlds of vocal jazz and pop, as well as instrumental jazz.

Group Therapy blends elements of rock, r&b, funk and reggae with the power of the blues. Band members are Roy Edwards, vocals and drums, Mike DeRose on guitar and Jack Kammien on bass guitar.

Night Wing

Night Wing is a local music trio that specializes in a high energy and vibrant visual presentaiton of variety dance music.

Ron Weller is the founder of Night Wing and is featured on keyboard, saxophone and vocals. Kristi Fenkl has been with Night Wing for over 6 years and is the featured "front" vocalist. Dana Petit is the newest member of the band, joining the group in January of 2010. She covers everything from Patsy Cline, Janis Joplin, Gretchen wilson and even Bon Jovi.

The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America's Hot Brass offers a unique product sure to please music lovers of all types. During their concert, you will hear funk, jazz, blues, soul, zydeco, swing and country as well as the latest pop hits.

Lake Effect

Lake Effect was formed 15 years ago by Eddie Muniz and Bennet Olsen.  Today the band consists of Muniz (keyboards); Olsen (saxophone); Mike DeRose (guitar); Dwyne Williams (bass), Robert Figueroa (percussion) and Glenn Williams (drums). 

This group of sought-after session musicians has opened for performers such as Spiro Gyra, Janet Planet and Kim Waters.  Together their sound suggests The Yellow Jackets, David Sanborn and Marcus Miller.

Razors Edge

Look no further than the Razors Edge Band to hear the true sound and feel of AC/DC. Razors Edge was formed in March of 2008 by singer John Muse and lead guitarist Bob Beaudoin. Rounding out the band are Jerry Ricchio, drums; Dave Ricchio, rhythm guitar;and Bob Bojcic, bass guitar.

Saved by Grace

Saved by Grace is a seasoned Christian indie band and has made a name for itself mixing blues, funk and 70s drenched rock with their special blend of bold Christian lyrics.

Members of Saved by Grace are John Perham, rhythm guitar, lead and backing vocals; Joey Halbur, rhythm guitar, lead and backing vocals; Mike Phetteplace, drums; Paul Carter, bass guitar; and Kurt Brossman, lead guitar and backing vocals.

Mean Jake

Mean Jake is a band that defies description, playing music ranging from obscure southern blues to Muddy Waters and the Rolling Stones.  They have entertained groups large and small, playing such gigs as the International BMW Bike rally in Flint, Michigan to the Harley-Davidson Swap Meet at McCormick Place in Chicago.

Members of the band are Craig Aude on vocals and harmonica, Brian Kubowski on guitar, Greg McFarland on bass and Richie Schommer on drums.

Road Less Traveled is an acoustic-electric trio from Southeastern Wisconsin that blends folk, rock and jazz with rich vocal harmonies.

Members of the band are Randy Schneider, lead guitar and vocals; Laura Kassel, keyboard and vocals; and Mike Goff, drums.

Brian Daniels and the Barrel Boys have been wowing audiences with their rock influenced country music.

Band members include Brian Daniels (lead and background vocals and guitar), Don Devereaux (drums and percussion, vocals), Kenny Hoss (lead guitar and vocals), Mopp Walker (bass guitar and vocals), and Nick Dickens (guitar, mandolin and banjo, background vocals).
