CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK'S DAY...THE DOWNTOWN RACINE WAY

Everyone will be Irish on Saturday, March 19 as Downtown Racine's 5th annual St. Patrick's Day parade is held along Main and 6th Streets.

The parade steps off at 12 noon from the corner of State and Main Streets.  The parade heads south on Main Street to 6th Street and then will go west on 6th Street to City Hall. This year's parade will be led by Parade Marshal JJ McAuliffe.

With approximately 50 entries, parade participants include the Celtic Nations Pipe & Drum Band, Bagpiper Dave West, the Billy Mitchell Scottish Pipe Band, the Agerholm-Gross Detachment Marine Corp League Color Guard, Irish dancers, men in kilts, lots of leprechauns, an Irish kazoo band and much more.

Downtown Racine's pubs, restaurants and shops will be open as well offering pot-o-gold specials for the whole family.  Make sure to check out these specials:

  • Joeys on 6th is offering $3 Guinness pints and $2 shots of Jameson.
  • The Ivanhoe Pub & Eatery will be serving an Irish breakfast before the parade.  They will be featuring great Irish food and drinks all day including mussels, Irish stew, corn beef and cabbage and more.  The Irish Manor Girls will be on hand and drink specials will include Guinness, Angry Irishman, Bar Brawl Bloody, Fight'n Irish shots and Irish Eyes Are Smiling.
  • McAuliffe's on the Square will feature the band Billy Orphan followed by Whiskey Of The Damned.  They will also be serving  $4 Guinness and $3 Green Yummies.
  • Ricky's Place will feature "March Madness" with all the games being shown.  They will also be serving green beer with many Irish shot and Guinness specials.

Guests are invited to arrive in Downtown Racine early to get the best seats along the parade route.  Beginning at 11 a.m. refreshments (including green beer!) will be served at Monument Square.

Following the parade, fun contests will be held at Monument Square.  Everyone is welcome.  And, winners who are luckier than a four-leaf clover will receive Downtown gift certificates.  Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
