Downtown Racine is the New Site of the

Official 2012 Wisconsin Snow Sculpting Competition

January 13 - 15, 2012

 

Downtown Racine's second annual Snow Sculpting Competition and Festival will be held December 17, 18, and 19 at Monument Square. Over 20 one-person teams will work throughout the weekend to create their magical masterpieces out of 4' x 4' x 8' blocks of snow. The general public is invited to Monument Square to vote for their favorites. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. A special Sculptors' Choice Award will also be presented.

Throughout the weekend, other fun activities will be held at Monument Square. On Saturday, December 18, Santa, Mrs. Claus and live reindeer will be on hand for photo opportunities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Refreshments will be available for sale and People's Choice Voting begins at 2 p.m. WRJN Radio will broadcast live from Monument Square from noon to 2 p.m.

Visit Monument Square again on Sunday to see how the snow sculptures are developing. Santa, Mrs. Claus and the live reindeer will return from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the awards presentation being held at 2 p.m.

Snow Sculptors Information --Whether you're a seasoned snow sculptor or an artist who would like to try their hand at snow sculpting, you are invited to register to participate in the 2010 Snow Sculpting Competition and Festival in Downtown Racine. Registration forms must be completed and returned by November 20. Click here to download a registration form.
