WELCOME SPRING WITH THE START OF FIRST FRIDAY’S IN DOWNTOWN RACINE!

Downtown Racine Merchants kick off the ever popular First Fridays event on Friday, April 2 from 6-9pm!  Discover the shops, galleries & museums in downtown Racine with sweets and treats for Easter weekend as the 6th annual event unfolds for the season.  Over 35 merchants collaborate to bring you this fun filled evening of shopping, dining, music and more.

Wander our charming historic shopping district or treat yourself to a horse drawn carriage ride.   With live local music inside several shops, hands on activities, demonstrations and shopping specials you’ll want to explore all that downtown Racine has to offer.

Here are some of the highlights of April's First Fridays:

  • Visitors can enjoy the Racine Art Museum for FREE from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. Museum visitors are encouraged to partake in a FREE hands-on art project for all ages from 4 to 8 pm. where you can make “glass” art, reflecting ideas and methods used by the artists featured in the current RAM exhibition: “A Glass Act: First Rate Glass from RAM’s Collection.”
  • See how glass art is made with a visit to Hot Shop Glass, 239 Wisconsin Ave, where local artists offer glass blowing demonstrations all evening.
  • Artists Gallery, 401 Main Street, will host a reception from 6-9pm for Deborah Isaacson, featured artist for April. Isaacson does sculptural work with metal, or metal ribbon sculpture, using materials in stainless aluminum, copper, bronze as well as conduit and recycled materials. The public will also have a chance to win free dinners for two, plus getaway weekends compliments of the Racine Marriot. The drawing will be held from 6-9pm and winners need not to be present to win.
  • Art Metals Studio , 332 Main Street, will be offering the opportunity to sign up on our wish list and have a chance to win $100 Gift Certificate.
  • Fired Up! , 320 Main Street, will be continuing Friday Night  ‘paint your own ‘ workshops, $20 per person. Kids over 7 can participate while their parents enjoy First Fridays.
  • Copacetic, 409 Main Street, has hats for spring!  Ladies hats for Easter Sunday, Kentucky Derby parties or Spring's first bloom as well as men’s Panama Straw hats are available.   Look good, feel happy.
  • Plumb Gold Ltd, 322 Main Street, offers visitors an opportunity to enter to win Frederic Duclos earrings.
  • Jeff Ward performs at Molly MaGruder, 330 Main Street, from 6-8:30pm while shoppers enjoy a pick your discount event at the shop from 6-9pm.
  • DP Wigley/Hop to it! 234 Wisconsin Ave, will be offering tastings of homemade beer and wine.
  • Dimples Fine Imports, 416 Main Street, features singer /guitarist  Katie Lafond.
  • Casablanca De Mexico Restaurant and Lounge, 230 Main Street, will be serving samples of handmade Churros (Mexican pastries) with each dinner ordered.
  • Northern Lights Gallery, 423 Main Street, will feature acoustic guitarist Macyn Taylor.
