Professional snow carvers will create breathtaking masterpieces. Sculptors will craft these frozen works of art from 6' x 6' x 10' blocks of packed snow. The sculptures will definitely give visitors a reason to pause in awe and wonder at the creations that emerge from the imagination and hard work of the 35 artists from around the region.

The 25th annual Wisconsin State Snow Sculpting Championship will be held at Monument Square, in Downtown Racine from January 9th through January 11th. The Big Chill is quickly becoming the state's premiere snow festival due to our highly successful snow and ice carving events of the past few years.

We are also excited to share with you that we are partnering with Real Racine and adding some "Big Thrills" to The Big Chill weekend. The Winter Rail Jam, a mobile snowboard and freestyle ski event, will be joining The Big Chill. Real Racine will be utilizing 5th Street, just north of Monument Square for professional snowboard and skiing demonstrations and open riding times for the public. Not only are we expecting thousands of local and area residents to visit The Big Chill, but past events would lead us to believe that hundreds of visitors from around the state and region will come as well.
