"A Storybook Holiday", Downtown Racine's 2011 Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, November 12. The parade will step off from the corner of Main and State streets at 5:30 p.m. led by this year's Parade Grand Marshal Booker the Owl. Booker is the mascot of Racine Reads: Dream Big! The parade will also feature marching bands, lighted floats, costumed characters, Santa Claus and other holiday-themed entries.
Pre-Parade Activities at Monument Square
Join us at Monument Square beginning at 4 p.m. for some fun activities prior to enjoying the parade.
Meet and Greet the Door County Sled Dogs -- 4 to 4:45 p.m.
Storytelling by Sha-Nita Rhea, Miss Black Wisconsin -- 4 to 4:30 p.m.
Storytelling by Laura Kaebbeler, Miss Wisconsin -- 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Storytelling by Julie Burney Witherspoon -- 5 to 5:20 p.m.
Caroling by the Living Light Christian Church Choir -- 4:30 to 5 p.m.
Caroling by the Choral Arts Society of SE Wisconsin -- 5 to 5:30 p.m.
Refreshments will also be available for sale.
Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Immediately Following the Parade -- Join us at Monument Square immediately following the parade as we light the Community Christmas Tree. There will be caroling by the Living Light Christian Church Choir and then we will all watch as over 15,000 sparkling lights will light the large 30 ft. evergreen.
