Downtown Racine Holiday Open House

December 10, 2016

Small Business Saturday was a huge hit! The Downtown Racine Corporation would like to thank all who stopped out to support our local businesses here in Downtown Racine. Small Business Saturday isn’t the only time of year where shopping local benefits store owners. Shopping local today and everyday will help build up and strengthen our Racine community.
Here are some of the ways shopping local will benefit your community:
  • Shopping small creates and supports local jobs! Every time you purchase a product or service in Downtown Racine, you are helping to pay the salary of a friend or a neighbor.
  • Research shows that over 90 percent of small business owners contribute each year to their community through volunteering, donations and sponsorships. That means your purchase of a good or service at a downtown small business is a great way to pay it forward.
  • For every $100 that’s spent at a local business, $68 of that stays right here in our community! Compare that to the only $43 out of every $100 staying local at a national chain, and there’s really no contest.
Coming up next is the Downtown Racine Holiday Open House, which takes place on Saturday, December 10th. Merchants will be open all day long for a full of day of shopping and fun! Keep an eye out for our Gift Guide in the Journal Times, set to publish on December 8th.
And, back by popular demand: UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS! Wear your ugliest Christmas swear to the Downtown Open House and you will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $50.00 Downtown Racine gift certificates. The more participating locations you stop into, the more entries into the drawing you get! Shoppers need not be present to win; we will draw winners on Tuesday, December 13th. Participating locations will be added as we get closer to the day, so make sure to check back often for updates!
