Free

The Downtown Racine Corporation’s annual German Fest is on Saturday, June 22 from noon to 10:00 p.m. at Harbor Lite Yacht Club (559 State Street). Throughout the day, enjoy German food and beer, live music, raffles and much more. Admission is free.

Live polka music will be performed by Milwaukee-based band, Alpine Blast, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Four-time WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) award-winning Polka Artist of the Year, The Squeezettes, will be performing from 6:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

In between bands, feast your eyes on a Kraut Eating Competition while participants scarf down pounds of sauerkraut in hopes of becoming the 2019 Kraut Eating Champion. If you’re interested in participating, there is a sign-up for a men’s and women’s competition HERE: KRAUT EATING COMPETITION SIGN-UP. The winner will receive a Kraut Eating Champion sash, a $25 Downtown Racine Gift Certificate and a German Fest beer stein (filled with beer).

Wear your lederhosen and dirndl for a chance to be named the 2019 German Fest King or Queen. At 7:30 p.m. a winner will be determined by a crowd cheer. The King and Queen will each receive a sash to wear loud and proud, a $25 Gift Certificate from Dimple’s Imports, a $25 Downtown Racine Gift Certificate and a German Fest beer stein (filled with beer).

Try your luck by entering one of the many raffles at German Fest. There will be a ‘Wheelbarrow of Booze’ valued at over $500, a 50/50 drawing and raffle baskets. The winners do not have to be present to win.
