A “Peony” for your Thoughts!
“POTSARAZZI!” has been chosen by the Downtown Racine Corporation as the name for its 2011 Public Art Event which will feature flowerpots and garden stakes. Hundreds of entries were submitted in the Name the Event Contest. The winning name was submitted by Doreen Lueck of Racine. She will receive a $50 Downtown gift certificate.
The DRC staff stated that each year it is exciting to see the interest the “Name the Event” contest generates. Not everyone can participate by being an artist, but everyone can have fun with this project. The DRC wishes to thank everyone who participated in the contest for their wonderful and creative ideas and suggestions.
“POTSARAZZI! is a clever way to convey the fun factor of our blooming art,” said Terry Leopold, Special Events Coordinator for the Downtown Racine Corporation. “Summertime photographers will capture picture perfect potswith blooms and butterflies. This year's project is sure to be a perennial favorite andwe can't wait to see what our artists dig up!”
