START YOUR MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND AT DOWNTOWN'S FIRST FRIDAYS

Kick off Mothers Day weekend by joining family and friends for a fun-filled evening in downtown Racine on Friday, May 7 during First Fridays!  With hands on activities, demonstrations and shopping specials, you’ll want to explore all that Downtown Racine has to offer.

Live music this month includes Milwaukee's Fellboyz at Monument Square, Racine guitarist-songwriter Mitch Buenger at Crosswalk Park on Main Street, and the Smith-Nelson Project on Sixth Street.

Merchant Specials include:

• Fired Up! will offer a workshop from 6-8:30 p.m. Kids 7 and up may attend without their parents, or parents can stay and paint and make a family event.
• See how glass art is made with a visit to Hot Shop Glass, 239 Wisconsin Ave, where local artists offer glass blowing demonstrations all evening.
• Visit Upurea for a free mini-makeover and consultation.
• Art Metals Studio , 332 Main Street, will be offering the opportunity to sign up on their wish list and have a chance to win $50 Gift Certificate.
• Henry and Wandas features classic rock and blues with the Cream City Convicts Band. Also, check out their First Friday dinner specials on line at henryandwandas.com
• Johnson Outdoors will be holding a pre-season kayak sale. With specials on kayaks, paddles, PFD’s, and all watercraft accessories.
• Uncorkt will have a complimentary Wine Sampling from 6 - 8 p.m. with Avanti Brothers.
• Tangles Salon is offering 20% off to new clients who book future appointments.
• Inside Out will offer a 15% discount on the purchase of a combination of new spring products including jewelry, scarves, purses, etc.
• Jeff Ward will perform from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Molly MaGruder.  Also visit with Barkley from Central Bark Doggy Daycare and enter a free raffle.

• First Presbyterian Church will feature Watercolor Rondo, an exhibit of 23 watercolor works. This exhibit will be in the chapel which is accessible from the back of the church building nearest the parking lot on College and 7th Street. Artists will be on hand and refreshments will be served.
• Casablance de Mexico Restaurant and Lounge has a special surpirse treat for all moms having dinner.
• DP Wigley / Hop To It! is offering homemade wine and beer tastings from 6-8 p.m.
• Funky Hannah's welcomes nationally renowned designer Anna Elizabeth Draeger who will be signing her just released book: Crystal Brilliance - Making Designer Jewelry with Crystal Beads.
• RAM offers free admission from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.; a behind the scenes tour and meet the artists event with Artist Catherine Chalmers at 6:30 p.m. with a book signing at 7:30 p.m.; RAM's awesome art sale from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and a special hands-on free family art event from 4-8 p.m.
