Micros on the Monument is returning to Monument Square on Saturday, July 24, 2010. This unique event features a display of vintage micro cars from the 50's and 60's coming from throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Minnesota.
A vintage Micro car is described as small vehicle built primarily in the 1950’s and 60’s under 11 feet long and/or having an engine with less than 700cc engine displacement and with three or four wheels. Some of the typical makes of micro cars include the BMW Isetta, Citroen 2CV, Crosley, Daf, Goggomobile, King Midget, Messerschmitt, NSU Prinz, Subaru 360, Vespa 400 and more. Some micro cars are also commonly referred to as “bubblecars” so called because of their semi-spherical shape, such as the Heinkel, Messerschmitt and Isetta.
Anyone wishing to display a micro car at this event may contact Jim Garbo at kabinenroller@microcar.org or 262-497-8610. There is no registration fee or admission charge, but pre-registration is necessary.
